Following a series of lackluster films, Principal transitioned from acting to the role of a Hollywood talent and booking agent from 1975 to 1977. During this time, she harbored aspirations of attending law school, supporting herself through smaller television roles to fund her education. In 1977, she made her return to the screen with a guest appearance in the pilot episode of Fantasy Island, which was produced by Aaron Spelling. This opportunity marked a turning point in her career; she agreed to return to acting, provided her character wouldn’t remain in the series long-term due to her academic pursuits.

However, after receiving the audition script for Dallas, Principal’s focus shifted back to a dedicated acting career. Her role on Dallas not only solidified her status in Hollywood but also led to a successful career in producing and entrepreneurship, further showcasing her diverse talents and business acumen.
