Throughout his career, Jones has sparked significant controversy, particularly for his remarks regarding sensitive events such as the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy, and for asserting that the U.S. government played a role in the Oklahoma City bombing, the September 11 attacks, and staged Moon landings to conceal NASA's advanced technologies. He posits that a collaboration between government entities and large corporations is orchestrating a "New World Order" through engineered economic crises, advanced surveillance technology, and what he describes as inside-job terror attacks that incite public fear.

Identifying as a libertarian and paleoconservative, Jones has earned the title of “America’s leading conspiracy theorist” according to New York magazine, while the Southern Poverty Law Center labels him as "the most prolific conspiracy theorist in contemporary America." In response to these characterizations, Jones has expressed pride in being viewed as a “thought criminal” in opposition to authoritarianism.
