In an interview featured in the August 1998 edition of Femme Fatales, Bernard highlighted her unique position, stating, "I was the first under-18 Jewish virgin who was in the centerfold placed in front of a Christmas tree," and noted that prior to her Playboy shoot, she had never posed nude in front of anyone but her mother.

As of November 2008, Bernard was actively working on three books that delve into her father’s legacy as a photographer.
