Aubrey David Nicholas Jasper de Grey, born on April 20, 1963, is a prominent English author and theorist specializing in gerontology, currently serving as the Chief Science Officer at the SENS Foundation. He holds the position of editor-in-chief for the scholarly journal *Rejuvenation Research* and ... De Grey's groundbreaking research investigates the potential of regenerative medicine to combat the aging process. He proposed the concept of "Strategies for Engineered Negligible Senescence" (SENS), which outlines a framework for tissue repair aimed at rejuvenating the human body and extending lifespan indefinitely. He has identified seven categories of molecular and cellular damage resulting from normal metabolic activities, advocating for a comprehensive therapeutic approach to address this damage. Despite skepticism highlighted in an EMBO Reports article, which stated that no SENS therapies have been proven to extend lifespan in any organism, de Grey emphasizes a critical disconnect between basic scientists and those in regenerative medicine. The SENS Foundation's Research Advisory Board supports the feasibility of the SENS approach.

De Grey's expertise has led him to become a fellow of notable organizations such as the Gerontological Society of America and the American Aging Association. His insights have been featured in major media outlets, including *CBS 60 Minutes*, the BBC, *The New York Times*, and *TED Talks*, making him a well-known figure in discussions about aging and longevity.
