In July 2008, Takai successfully auditioned for SKE48, the sister project to the renowned AKB48, signaling her arrival on a much larger stage. Yet, true to her pattern, her tenure was brief, and she exited the ensemble a few months later, leaving fans curious about her next move.

After a period away from the spotlight, Takai re-emerged in 2019 with a striking announcement: she would form her own idol group, simpαtix. This venture showcased her evolution from a member of established franchises to a creator in her own right, steering her own artistic vision and mentoring a new generation of performers. While her time with Momoiro Clover and SKE48 remains a notable chapter in her history, it is her willingness to chart an unconventional course—culminating in the founding of simpαtix—that underscores her lasting impact on Japan's idol scene.
