McVeigh's motivations stemmed from his deep-seated anti-government beliefs, which he articulated through various writings and interviews. Following an extensive investigation, McVeigh was apprehended, tried, and ultimately convicted for his actions. On June 11, 2001, he was executed by lethal injection, becoming the first person executed by the federal government in the United States since 1963. McVeigh's actions and their aftermath have had a lasting impact on national discussions surrounding domestic terrorism and government accountability.
