Her talent soon caught the attention of Shochiku Gomei, leading her to Kyoto in 1913 to perform with the City Second Kyogoku Taishoza. After two years of theatrical success, Komatsu pivoted toward the burgeoning world of cinema, a bold move that would cement her legacy. A contract with Kunikatsu Films in 1920 saw her star in productions like *Shoshurei* and *Chishio no Naruto*, but it was her move to Shochiku Shimogamo after the devastating 1923 Kanto Earthquake that solidified her standing. There, she delivered memorable performances in period pieces such as *Nichiren Komachi* and *Kane no Naruhi*.

By 1925, she had joined Nikkatsu Daishogun Studios, where her roles began to mature, transitioning to the elderly and maternal characters that would become her signature. Beyond acting, she became a respected choreographer for the Nikkatsu Period Drama Theater under a professional name in the Wakayagi school. After transferring to Daiei in 1942, she continued her craft until her retirement in 1964. Midori Komatsu passed away in 1982 at the age of ninety-one, leaving behind a rich cinematic and theatrical heritage.
