The duo gained significant fame through their performances, particularly after their breakout show in 1991 at Café de la Gare and subsequent appearances on Emission Impossible, hosted by fellow comedian Arthur. However, their partnership dissolved in 1997 due to artistic and financial disagreements, with Semoun feeling increasingly disillusioned by Dieudonné’s direction and controversies.

Following the split, Semoun carved his path with projects like Petites Annonces d'Élie, inspired by real-life classified ads.
