Her big break came after she was discovered in Las Vegas, leading to her role in the film The Big Combo, which prompted her relocation to Los Angeles to fully commit to her acting career. Throughout the mid-1950s, she appeared in various films, sharing the screen with notable actors like Johnny Weissmuller, Arthur Franz, and Tom Drake. Her final film role was in 1956 alongside comedian Ben Blue, after which she decided to retire from acting in 1957.

That same year, Stanton married Morton Pinsky, and together they welcomed two children, including renowned doctor Drew Pinsky. Their marriage lasted over five decades until Pinsky's passing in 2009, marking a significant chapter in her life as a devoted wife and mother.
