Following her time with Playboy, she ventured into mainstream cinema, taking on several minor roles.

In August 1990, Weigel's life took a dramatic turn when she was involved in a serious car accident, resulting in severe neck and back injuries that necessitated five surgical procedures. The aftermath left her unable to work for four months, forcing her and her husband to sell their home and relocate to an apartment. During the filming of a nude video, a colleague proposed the idea of entering the adult film industry to help regain her financial stability. Initially reluctant, Weigel ultimately embraced the opportunity, starring in her first adult film, *Inferno*, in 1991 alongside Marc Wallice.
